Note 1
Full-time tuition fees (2 payments) cover three consecutive terms of the same academic year, including the summer term. Only if full-time fees are paid for two consecutive terms is the subsequent term free of charge. All PhD students are required to pay the annual full-time rate of tuition in each of their first two years, regardless of the number of courses they are taking. Once this residency requirement has been met, they will be charged on a per course basis for their comprehensive (CP600) and subsequently, their thesis (TH600).
Note 2
Sponsored students who have not completed studies within the sponsorship period will be required to pay tuition fees according to their student category (i.e. Domestic or International).
Note 3
For full-time students who take courses at another Ontario university (excluding Queen’s) under the Ontario Visiting Graduate Student Plan (OVGS), the OVGS fee of $2,200 per full-year course or $1,100 per term course must be paid by the department who approves the OVGS registration form, from the tuition fee received for that student.
Note 4
Students completing thesis corrections toward the end of the current term will not be charged fees for the following term provided that all corrections are submitted and approved by the end of the first month of the new term (i.e. 30 Sept, 31 Jan, and 31 May).
Note 5
Full-time, non-subsidized students may register in either on-site courses or courses offered by the Division of Continuing Studies subject to space availability without any additional course fees.
